Celebration Dinner: Carla & Satya are spending the night tonight. They are preparing to go on a trip to Seymour, Tennessee where Carla will be one of the dancers at a Sun-Moon dance ritual. Satya (John) will be her support person. Dinner was prepared by the lovely Mistress Heather and included a salad of red leaf lettuce, persian cucumbers, avacados, amazing cheese that Carla brought, with a raspberry-fig vingerette. Main course was a craw-fish Ettouffe with a pinch of cilantro, served with Frenc Battard bread. The evenings meal ended with dessert, a Pavlova topped with delicious fresh strawberries and juicy passion fruit. Desert also included Pots of Creme with wonderful fresh wipped creme dabbed on top.
Communion: Preston prepared Celebration communion to include a round of the agave nectar. The secret recipe (the standard communion of Church of the Porch) was provided for all to wet their juicy lips.
Ongoing Requests: The Church is in need of agave (ninety-nine and 44/100% pure preferred), and La Croix Orange in cans. For those interested in making a special gift a nice bottle of Champagne (the French kind) would be particularly appreciated. We're sorry to ask for this but there seems to be an evaporation factor that is high at Church of the Porch. Money is always good too.
The Bed bed was uncovered and Carla had the opportunity to “sling up” beside a few of the congregants. Miss Anne (Satya)was running around taking lots of pictures.
A variety of music was provided by The Irreverend. The Irreverend played for a few of the congregants part of an old Carman Miranda movie.
Basic Tenants
- We do not proselytize any belief system.
- We do not actively recruit members nor expect attendance to any regular Church “service”.
- We do not care what you believe in as long as you believe in something and are working your path.
Basic Beliefs
- There is something bigger than ourselves.
- None of us will ever truly understand the universe we experience.
- While each of us only knows our own path, we can still help others along theirs, and through that they will return the favor for us.
Membership
The Church of The Porch has many different membership categories. Depending on your circumstances you may only be eligible for some of them. The Church will not normally invite anyone to become a member; the privilege is yours to invite yourself.
- Full Members: Regularly attend events on The Porch.
- Associate Members: Have visited The Porch or attended Porch events, but are not fully active in Church functions.
- Adjunct Members: Have visited The Porch, but only on special occasions.
- Friends of the Church: Are aware of The Porch and its members, but have not yet made the pilgrimage.
To become a member you first must invite yourself in . One of our Full Members will be in touch with you.
Church Leaders
- The Irreverend: Presides over Porch activities by humbly serving the other congregants. He is royal consort to The Queen.
- The Queen (Mistress Heather): serves delicious & nurturing delicacies as well as wisdom and occasionally dishes out the appropriate spankings and discipline. She also is Head Priestess of The Altar of Culinary Delights (the kitchen). She provides “adequate female supervision” for those oozing at the seams with testerone.
- The Dea-CON-ess (Satya/Seer): Miss Anne with the big-ass red hats is the current spiritual guide. She follows each of the congregants pointing out possibilities.
- Awakened: Self-styled Anarchist dispenses wise advice and wise-cracks to the deserving. This is only our eighth lifetime of knowing him so we still call him “the new guy”. He does run the Archetypes and Spiritual Development POD here on Zaadz, and that is very cool.
Contact any of our members though their profiles on GAIA if you have more questions.
Church Groups
- The Healing Circle: Full Church members professionally trained in Reiki, massage, and traditional medicine.
- The Altar Guild: Handles announcements, coordinates Church events, acts as ambassadors to the world, but most importantly maintains our altar and lights the candles.
- Communion Corps: Helps prepare the communion and the secret recipe.
- Minstrels: Provide the music which is essential to peace and healing. Heathrens: Sometimes known as the chilrens are too busy searching outside themselves to take note of the magic. They willl recognize it one day as they grow within themselves.
